Bungee Jumping and Jeongbangsa Temple in Jecheon; An MT Sponsored by Stay Korea
This summer, I joined an MT trip to Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do with my university English conversation club, SPTC, and several foreign exchange students. Jecheon is known for its clean nature and thrilling leisure sports, so we had been excited long before the trip began. The MT was made possible thanks to sponsorship from Stay Korea, which made all the preparations smooth and easy.
Stay Korea is a platform where you can compare and inquire about various types of accommodations across Korea, including goshiwons (small studios), co-living houses, and studios. It also offers multilingual support for foreigners and long-term residents, making it very convenient for exchange students who are not yet familiar with life in Korea. Thanks to Stay Korea’s support, we were able to manage our lodging and scheduling without any hassle.
Day 1: Bungee Jumping, Leisure Sports, and Jeongbangsa Temple
After leaving Seoul early in the morning, we arrived in Jecheon and headed straight to one of its landmarks — the bungee jumping site. At first, we all joked about who would be too scared to jump, but once we got to the top, the atmosphere changed completely. Standing on Korea’s tallest bungee platform at 62 meters, I looked down at Jecheon’s mountains and lakes — breathtakingly beautiful yet terrifying at the same time. When I finally jumped, my mind went blank for a split second, and a rush of life filled my entire body. The thrill was indescribable. The foreign exchange students took turns jumping as well, fearlessly diving one after another. After that, we tried other activities like zip-lining and big swings, which were full of excitement and laughter. During those moments, we forgot about language and nationality; everyone was just having fun together. In the afternoon, we visited Jeongbangsa Temple, located on a serene mountain slope. The view overlooking Jecheon was magnificent, and in the peaceful temple atmosphere, we took photos, shared quiet conversations, and enjoyed a brief moment of calm.

Day 1 Evening – Late Night: Experiencing Korean University MT Culture
When we returned to our accommodation, the real MT began. We had a samgyeopsal (pork belly) barbecue dinner, and later introduced our foreign friends to Korean drinking games such as Chulseokbu Game, Strawberry Game, and 007 Bang. At first, they struggled to follow the fast-paced rules, but soon everyone was laughing and shouting together. They couldn’t stop saying how fun and energetic Korean college students are.
As the night went on, our conversations deepened. English and Korean mixed naturally as we talked about our countries, cultures, and university life. It truly felt like a real cultural exchange. We stayed at the Jecheon Youth Training Center, which we used through Stay Korea’s sponsorship. The facilities were clean, spacious, and perfect for group activities, allowing us to relax and enjoy ourselves late into the night.
Day 2: Leaving Jecheon and Returning to Daily Life
The next morning, we packed up and gathered outside for one last group photo. Everyone still felt the lingering excitement from the previous day and promised to return someday. As the bus left Jecheon, I looked out the window at the mountains, replaying the past two days like scenes from a movie — the thrill of bungee jumping, the serenity of Jeongbangsa, and the laughter that lasted all night.
This trip made me realize that Jecheon is more than just a tourist destination — it’s a place where people and experiences come together. If Stay Korea sponsors another MT or trip like this, I would love to join again. From lodging and meals to activity support, they made sure everything went smoothly and helped us create memories that will last a lifetime.
