From the best-known to the lesser-known dishes, here are some suggestions for your next meal !
In Seoul, you’ll find restaurants everywhere.
Don’t hesitate to enter certain buildings on the 2nd or 3rd floor.
There’s no particular area to go to for a good meal, but depending on what you want to eat, some areas are better than others.
For example, if you’re looking for authentic, traditional dishes, it’s best to head for the Insadong district or if you prefer street food, the Myeongdong district is a paradise for you.
If you’re looking for a more upscale meal, Gangnam is the place for you. For trendier dining with a great atmosphere, Hongdae is the place to go.
Finally, if you’re looking for a little more international cuisine, Itaewon is the district where you’ll find food from all over the world.
Let me introduce you to some very famous dishes that you must try !
Let’s start with complete dishes.
Bibimbap (비빔밥) : This dish is a mixture of rice with vegetables, meat, spicy pasta and an egg.
Samgyeopsal (삼겹살) : This is a Korean barbecue where pork belly is grilled and eaten with salad leaves.
Dakgalbi (닭갈비) : This dish consists of chicken marinated in a spicy and sweet chili paste sauce (gochujang), served with cheese, cabbage, sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and rice cakes (tteokbokki).
Jjajangmyeon (짜장면) : Pork sautéed with pasta in a black sauce (chunjang).

Tteokbokki (떡볶이) : Cylindrical rice cakes simmered in a spicy gochujang sauce
Odeng/Eomuk (어묵) : Skewers of fish paste served in a hot broth
Corndog (콘도그) : Sausage wrapped in crispy batter, skewered on a stick
